Meet Joy Bischoff
President, Hardin Memorial Hospital and Van Wert Hospital
Joy Bischoff serves as President at OhioHealth Hardin Memorial Hospital and OhioHealth Van Wert Hospital.
Joy has been an inspiring leader at OhioHealth since 2003. Most recently she held the position of Chief Nursing Officer at Marion General and Hardin Memorial Hospitals. During those years as a clinical leader she gained knowledge and a passion for hospital operations which ultimately led her to a promotion in 2021 to president of Hardin Memorial Hospital.
As a native Hardin county resident, Joy takes pride in serving the community she grew up. Her primary focus is to keep care local and to leverage the excellent quality care of being a part of a larger healthcare system. Her knowledge of the community has given her great insight in understanding the health of a rural community and the vital part the hospital plays in economic growth.
Joy holds a master’s degree in Nursing from Walden University and a bachelor’s degree in Nursing from Ohio Northern University, having first earned her associate degree in Nursing from Lima Technical College.
Joy inspires to be a life-long learner and has a desire for mentoring others encouraging them to learn and grow professionally and personally. Because of her love for education, she has held various leadership roles at local colleges and vocational schools including Rhodes State College, Marion Technical College and Tri-Rivers.
Joy and her husband, Jim, reside in Bellefontaine and are the proud parents of three grown children.
